Inspirational Women

I am pretty new to the vast blogging world. I have a family blog to keep family and friends updated with our lives, but that is where most of my world has remained. Within that familiar zone. When I started this blog, I used it mainly as a place to record my most bothersome thoughts. You know, a kind of sounding board. But, I soon found that there were many women going through similar experiences. So, I began visiting other blogs and feeling confident enough to comment. I am so glad I did. I have gained many new friends who willingly offer advice and comfort. Their posts help inspire me to be a better wife, mother, and, most importantly, woman.
Sometimes I get into a self-pitying mode.
No one knows what it is like to have a husband in school, working from dawn until midnight. No one knows how it feels to be a single mom much of the time. No one understands the discomfort of having 2 babies so close together.

You get the gist.
A little bit before Conference I asked Mr. B for a blessing. That blessing gave me great comfort and strength. I still had the same difficulties, but my outlook was more positive. I began to look outside my sorrows. I realized that I am not alone. Everyone has something they are struggling with. That is something I knew before, but this was one of those ah ha! moments.
Now, rather than invite self-pity, I am trying to find ways to offer service to other people. Whether it is giving a meal to someone, providing a shoulder to cry on, or just saying thank you, I know that each act of service will improve my attitude.
Thank you ladies of the blogging world for encouraging me, through your examples, to be a better person.

It really is so amazing, isn't it? I had no idea when I started blogging what a great support system I had lucked into. So glad you're finding that joy in your own life. It takes the edge off the hard days.

The blogging community is wonderful. I totally understand what you are saying. When I began blogging I was going through a difficult time and the encouragement of fellow bloggers really was such a help. I think service was one of the themes emphasized at Conference.
